Need: Someone who would pick up furniture and other household items that is being donated. You would schedule pick-ups when convenient. Contact Susan Taylor 388-1837
WHAT TO DONATE
- Men’s jeans, underwear, socks, shoes & gloves
- Usable furniture of all kinds, pots, pans, blankets and kitchenware
- Drop off donations in container at the rear of the SVDP distribution center on Tara Lane on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (summer 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon) 10:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m.
FEED THE HUNGRY
Non-Perishable Food Items
We challenge every family to bring at least one of the following nonperishable items to Mass every week and to place it in the “Food Drop Box” in the vestibule of the church.
Make this a prayerful habit. When you are grocery shopping and select you item for the poor. Take time to thank God for the ability to provide adequate food for your own family and pray for those less fortunate. Choose from these items based on the first letter of your last name.
A-E: Boxed dinners (Hamburger, Tuna or Chicken Helpers), rice dinners, instant potatoes
F-I: Canned foods (ravioli, soups, tuna, Spam, and other canned foods you like to eat)
J-N: Health care needs (shampoo, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, etc.)
O-S: Peanut butter, jelly, spaghetti sauce, fruit juice
T-Z: Cereal, instant oatmeal, grits, spaghetti, rice, macaroni & cheese
Perishable Food Items
Place inside S.V.D.P. building, The House of the Good Shepherd: Monday – Friday 9:30 a.m. – to 3:30 p.m
WORKERS NEEDED MONDAY – FRIDAY 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- Food Pantry: Workers are needed to pack food bags.
- Kitchen: Workers are needed to make sandwiches for the homeless
- Distribution Center Building
- Any amount of time you can give will be greatly appreciated.

Clients
- The names and circumstances of those needing help are always kept in strict confidence.
Types of Assistance
- We provide financial assistance for food, rent, utilities, medicines, clothing, and other necessities.
- We comfort and encourage the needy and pray for them.
Workers
- S.V.D.P. is managed and operated by an all volunteer staff; therefore, it is essential that we recruit volunteers for the good work of helping the poor.
- Everyone has something to offer and you are most welcome to join us with whatever time and talent you wish to donate.
